Directors

Sue Kember is Director of the ScotianAires.
She holds an Honors B.A. in Music and Drama from the University of Guelph. She moved to NS in 1993 and began teaching piano and voice in her home studio. Sue joined the ScotianAires in 1994 and became the Assistant Director several years later. In 2006, she took over as director. In 2017, Sue was certified as a Singing Category Judge with Harmony, Incorporated and currently sings baritone in the quarter, enJOY!

Leanne Dharmaratnam is Assistant Director of the ScotianAires
. Once a school band teacher, and music teacher at the local music shop, Leanne certainly knows her way around a piece of music! Once she retired, Leanne joined the ScotianAires as a baritone and quickly became music chair for a term, then baritone section leader, and a member of the performance team. Following in the barbershop footsteps of her parents, Leanne is very happy to be directing again.

Judy Robichaud is Associate Director with the ScotianAires.
She had the honour of being a charter member of the ScotianAires as well as being the first Assistant Director alongside our first front line director, Rene Boymook. Judy has also directed two other Harmony, Inc. choruses and a BHS chorus in our region. Currently, as Associate Director, she loves to coach and teach voice to our many wonderful members who so appreciate learning the skills of singing the barbershop style of music. Judy presently sings tenor with quartet enJOY! and is the gold medal tenor of Spectrum, 1993-94 Harmony Queens.
